Preston P. Pratt - Data Center Infrastructure @ Meta | US Navy Veteran
I'm Preston Pratt. My career has been defined by one thing: a focus on the critical infrastructure that powers our world, from nuclear propulsion plants in the US Navy to the massive AI data centers at Meta.
I'm driven by a fascination with how these large-scale systems converge—especially at the intersection of power infrastructure, AI, and decentralized systems like Bitcoin.
My foundation is in engineering and service. I am a US Navy veteran, having served 6 years in the nuclear propulsion program. I hold a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Nuclear Engineering from Texas A&M University.
After my service, I spent two decades in the electric utility business, mostly in nuclear generation. That time gave me a deep understanding of the "power side" of critical infrastructure, but more importantly, it taught me how to lead teams and break down complex organizational problems.
Since August 2022, I have worked in Data Center Infrastructure at Meta, building out the AI infrastructure that will shape our future.
I grew up on the central plains of Texas, where I met my wife, Tracie, at Bryson High School. We have three children together—two sons and a daughter. I'm a life-long learner, and when I'm not working, I'm usually reading or thinking about how emerging trends will extrapolate.
I enjoy meeting new people. I would love to talk to you about your interests or mine. Please reach out at the links below or find me across most social media platforms @prestonppratt. You can also read my thoughts on my Substack and my blog.
